A man is more motivated when he is lucky to do what he has passion for. This is the spirit behind what is driving the creative idea of entertainment entrepreneur, Tajudeen Adepetu.
Adepetu, who is the force behind a private television station, OnTV, told Arts Dome that the desire to ensure that people enjoy themselves made him establish the station.
Noting that capital is an integral part of any business initiate, Adepetu added that every businessman/woman should know that doing business in Nigeria involves generating power and setting the capacity for its business operation.
He also disclosed that the journey to floating a television station has not been smooth-sailing despite the huge response from viewers of the entertainment-enriched station.
He said, ‘‘We have been doing well since the establishment of the station two years ago. It is a pride that Nigerians are watching us. People largely appreciate what we do. We are poised to ensure that they continue to enjoy our contents as we look for ways to improve upon them.’’Besides, he noted that the station had recorded about 25 per cent in its goals and would not relent in achieving set targets.
‘‘Our dream is to become the preferred channel in such a way that when one is looking for pure entertainment, our station will be the destination point,’’ he said.
According to Adepetu who also oversees Soundcity, Televista, Spice and Village Square among others, the entertainment industry is not structured to support serious-minded individuals passionate about the development of the showbiz industry.
He further said some people dabble into the industry only to massage their ego rather than for passion needed to excel in such an important area.
While saying the motivation guiding his passion for entertainment continues to grow by the day, he assured viewers to continually make every home aglow with unique entertainment programmes.
