Major telecoms service provider in Nigeria, Globacom, is set to launch a Mobile Money Agent Network, called Glo Xchange, in partnership with licensed mobile money operators, Firstmonie, Ecobank and Stanbic IBTC.
The initiative will accelerate the mobile money revolution, as it will avail the industry of the much needed distribution network.
According to a statement from Globacom, the launch will hold at the Grand Ball Room of Eko Hotels and Suites on Victoria Island.
The Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele is confirmed to launch the initiative, in the midst of senior officials of government and parastatals, managing directors of banks, captains of industry and other stakeholders.
The full event is also slated for television broadcast between 7p.m. and 8p.m. on Thursday by Africa Independent Television (AIT).
Glo has, since launch, been at the forefront of introducing innovative products and services in the Nigerian market, including per second billing, mobile internet, M-Banking, and prepaid roaming, among numerous others.
