SENATE SAYS AGF’S ABSENCE TODAY IS A BIG SLAP ON THEM, AS THEY WALK REPRESENTATIVE OUT

Oh dear, according to the official twitter page of the Senate, @NGRSenate, which we have been following, the Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami today failed to honour the invitation of the Senate. The AGF however sent in a representative, the S.A to President Buhari on prosecution, Ministry of Justice, but was asked to leave shortly after he told them, he was there to represent the AGF, as he was out of the country.

The Chairman responded saying, it was the AGF that was summoned and not him, and they asked him to excuse them.

The Chairman of the Committee, Senator David Umaru then went on to say;
"The purpose of this hearing was to defend Nigeria's Democracy but the AGF has faulted the invitation of the Senate again."
"This is a slap on the face of the Senate as the AGF has refused to appear before the Committee after being summoned", Senator Utazi said. Utazi went further saying; "We just want to ask the AGF a few questions to clarify all these issues but he has failed to respond to our invitation.

In conclusion, Senator Umaru thanked everyone and said; "What we'll do now as a Committee is to report back to plenary and then we will know what next is to be done."

The AGF had been invited to speak on the issues surrounding the alleged forgery of Senate Standing Rules which the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and two others are being prosecuted at the FCT High Court for.
