"I'M NOT READY FOR MARRIAGE' - FLAVOUR SAYS IN NEW INTERVIEW

In a new interview with Vanguard, highlife artist Flavour said he's single and not thinking of marriage.
People will always talk and turn around stories. But I am still single because marriage is not my priority for now. I still want to hit the top before thinking about marriage. It’s not yet time. I am still concentrating on my music.
Flavour also explains how he manages to stays away from controversy/scandal
I try to stay away from trouble. For instance, I don’t even go to clubs. Any time I want to do something, I do it in the comfort of my house. I party inside my house. I do my recording inside my house. When you start mingling and partying with everybody in different places that is where one or two things would start to emerge.
I’m either here in my house or in my second house on the Island. When you mingle much with people, at times you start trusting people that are not supposed to be trusted. You start having divided attention. You would take a picture and make joke with it and tomorrow it’s all over the newspapers and internet.

Speaking to Weekend Warm-Up on Sky Sports News, Torres said: ‘I wanted to be like him (Ismy), so I start playing as a goalkeeper, until I break my teeth doing a save. And my mother said “you want to play football, no more as a goalkeeper”.

END OF THE YEAR TWEET FIGHT: EEDRIS ABDULKAREEM VS NOMORELOSS

End of the year tweet fight between the singer and the rapper began after Nomoreloss addressed the BON/IBAN artists ban. Then a fan accused Nomoreloss of standing against a 'true reformist', @Eedris Abdulkareem. Nomoreloss' response about true talents standing the test of time must have annoyed Eedris because he replied Nomoreloss and thus started the exchange of words. Eedris went as far as threatening to beat Nomoreloss up.

Speaking on The Headies 2013, Tiwa says, “Being the 8th year, it’s not easy to be consistent in a country like Nigeria. Dr. Sid, expressing his excitement, said: “I’ve been trying to host this event for the past 6 years. I’ve waited to be called to no avail and this year I’m hosting. Wow! I’m so emotional right now, I’m glad for this opportunity.”

The Headies annually celebrates deserving Nigerian music and musicians and encourages many to step up their game in order to enter the prestigious Headies alumni. BLAME ME: DAVID MOYES TAKES RESPONSIBILITY FOR MANCHESTER UNITED’S MISERABLE SEASON

David Moyes has said he takes full responsibility for Manchester United’s poor form and believes his side have to improve in every aspect of their game.
The Premier League champions have suffered back-to-back home defeats without scoring and are only ninth in the division, 13 points behind leaders Arsenal.
“I take complete responsibility for the results,” Moyes said. “Fortunately they have been good in the Champions League but they’ve not been good in the Premier League. I would like them to be much better.
“I think there is a bit of everything we could be doing better. We would like to pass it better, to create more chances, to defend better when those moments arise so it is all round.
“It is tough because we expect to win all the games. We have been inconsistent at times and we have played very well in some of the games in the Champions League, not so well in the Premier League, albeit we have lacked a little bit of good fortune at times.”
And Moyes admitted he is concerned that United, who have long been renowned for scoring late goals, have struggled to mount a response after going behind to Everton and Newcastle at Old Trafford in the last week.
He added: “In recent games we haven’t finished the games the way we would have liked to. We have tried to make changes to improve things but it hasn’t quite happened. I think we have lost goals quite late, [although] the Newcastle one [was] not so late, and we just couldn’t find a way of getting a goal back.”
Moyes is adamant his players share the supporters’ pain but believes they will produce the appropriate response.
He said: “Yes, the players are hurting because they are used to winning and when they don’t win that hurts them. They care very much about the team and the club. They are good lads and they will respond in the right way.”

DROGBA, EBOUE TO BE PENALIZED FOR PAYING TRIBUTES TO MANDELA DURING FOOTBALL MATCH?

Didier Drogba and Emmanuel Eboue face fines from the Turkish FA after displaying vests bearing tributes to Nelson Mandela. The two Ivory Coast internationals unveiled their personal messages after Galatasaray’s game against Elazigspor on Friday, their first game after the death of South African icon Mandela.
Chelsea legend Drogba peeled off his shirt at the 2-0 win to reveal a tribute which said: ‘Thank you Madiba’ and former Arsenal defender Eboue’s vest said: ‘Rest in Peace Nelson Mandela’.
The Turkish FA (TFF) are planning to summon the Galatasaray pair to appear before the Professional Football Discipline Committee because they had not sought prior permission to display their messages.
It is in contrast to England where games this weekend have been preceded by a minute of applause in celebration of Mandela’s life and his role in ending apartheid in South Africa and transforming the international profile of Africa.
Plans to discipline Drogba and Eboue are certain to attract criticism and fuel debate in Turkey, where the TFF are trying to keep political imagery out of football as directed by FIFA, although it has proved increasingly difficult in a football-crazy nation beset by political tension.

FIFA ANNOUNCES RONALDO, MESSI AND RIBERY AS FINAL THREE CANDIDATES FOR BALLON D’OR

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery, have been announced as the final three players that are up for this year’s Ballon d’Or.
Ronaldo appears to be favourite to claim the prize, which he won for the only time in 2008 while at Manchester United. The Portuguese has scored 34 goals in the 2013/2014 season and scored all the goals in Portugal’s World Cup play-off against Sweden, as his country qualified for the mundial.
Ribery is also in contention for the award, after being named UEFA’s Best Player in Europe for the 2012/2013 season, in which he helped Bayern Munich win the Champions League, Bundesliga and German Cup.
Messi, who has already won the Ballon d’Or four years in a row, is regarded as the outsider this year, because of a injury-hit campaign, although the Argentine has been prolific too, scoring 45 goals as Barcelona stormed to the La Liga crown.
The winner will be revealed at the FIFA Ballon d’Or gala in Zurich on January 13, 2014.
The initial 23-man list was compiled by the FIFA Football Committee and a group of experts from France Football and announced on October 29.

NELSON MANDELA PASSES AWAY AT 95

Nelson Mandela, whose successful struggle against South Africa’s apartheid system of racial segregation and discrimination made him a global symbol for the cause of human rights and earned him the Nobel Prize, died Thursday. He was 95.
Mandela spent 27 years in South African prisons before his release in 1990. He negotiated with the nation’s white leaders toward establishing democracy and was elected South Africa’s first black president in 1994, serving one term.
“He probably will be remembered both inside and outside South Africa as a political saint,” said Michael Parks, the former editor of the Los Angeles Times who won a Pulitzer Prize in 1987 for his coverage of Mandela and South Africa’s struggles.
“He had flaws that he had to overcome. He had a temper he had to deal with. He had to deal with what was going to be life imprisonment. Not all his decisions were great decisions, but what political leader’s are,” Parks said.
As a young man, Mandela worked as a lawyer and political activist to dismantle white minority rule under which blacks were denied political rights and basic freedoms. He began by emulating the non-violent methods of India’s Mahatma Gandhi. But a turn to violence as the leader of the armed wing of the African National Congress that included a bombing campaign against government targets led to his imprisonment for over a quarter-century.
A worldwide campaign against apartheid pressured the regime into releasing Mandela in 1990 at age 71. He vowed to seek peace and reconciliation with South Africa’s whites — but only if blacks received full rights as citizens.
Amid tense negotiations with the government and the threat of violence on all sides, Mandela emerged as a leader who guided South Africa to a new democratic government guaranteeing equal rights to all citizens. Four years later, Mandela became his nation’s first black president.
Mandela’s charisma, stoic optimism and conciliation toward adversaries and oppressors established him as one of the world’s most recognizable statesmen of the 20th century and a hero of South African democracy.
“If you want to make peace with your enemy, you have to work with your enemy,” Mandela once said. “Then he becomes your partner.”
Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993 along with South Africa’s president at the time, Frederik Willem de Klerk, for working together to dismantle apartheid.

#GOANDDIE: WHY I SNUBBED PDP OFFER – EDO WIDOW REVEALS

Mrs Joy Ifijeh, the widow who was rebuked by Governor Adams Oshiomhole for blocking the road with her goods, says she snubbed the offer of N250,000 by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) because she was satisfied with the apology and offer of a job and N2m by the Governor.
She also said she is not ready to be used as a pawn by the PDP on the chessboard of politics, advising the party to give the said money to another widow instead.
She disclosed this during the presentation of her letter of appointment into the Edo State War Against Indiscipline to her by Special Adviser to Governor Oshiomhole on Media and Public Affairs, Mr Kassim Afegbua at the Government House in Benin City, yesterday.
According to her “I want to thank Oshiomhole sincerely for this appointment and I wish to state that I have forgiven him from the bottom of my heart. And for the money promised me by PDP let them give it to other widows. I do not need the money”.
She described the governor’s gesture as humane and promised to support the government policies and programmes in the state.
Earlier, while presenting the appointment letter, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Strategy, Mr Kassim Afegbua, said “the appointment is in fulfilment of Comrade Oshiomhole promise to offer the widow employment into the service of the Government.
He said the appointment is effective from 3rd December. 2013, stressing that she would be expected to resume conform to the ethics of her position.
It will be recalled that Mrs Joy Ifijeh was on Monday offered two million naira by the Governor and also promised employment.
