Google Earth
A satellite view on Google Earth of the Christian Science Society of Dixon, Ill., seems to resembles a penis.
This Illinois church may want to rethink its motto of “Rising Up.”
That’s because the Christian Science Society’s building — in the appropriately-named town of Dixon — looks like a giant phallus from space.
From street-level, there appears to be nothing comical about the edifice.
But a God’s eye view transforms the erection into a dead ringer for an enormous member.
Eagle-eyed Redditors using Google Earth first spotted the likeness earlier this week.
Images of the swollen-headed sanctuary have since gone viral.
The congregation of the church, a 90-minute drive from Chicago, has yet to comment on the unexpected discovery, reports Chicagoist.com.
But some have suggested its design could be down to a rogue architect who never imagined his masterpiece would one day be clearly seen from above.
The church, founded in 1903, shares the teachings of Jesus Christ and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of the Christian Science movement.
Dixon was home to former U.S. President Ronald Reagan during his youth.
