TOYOTA REDESIGNS CAMRY FOR 2014

Toyota Camry is expected to get ‘significant’ attention from enthusiasts of new cars and other auto stakeholders in 2014 when a refreshed version of the vehicle is introduced.
Analysts say the Japanese auto manufacturing giant is likely to shrug off mounting competition from Ford, Chevrolet, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda and Nissan with the 2014 Camry.
A report by Allcars 2014 says the new Camry will bring many improvements and enhancements that will make the model more spacious and functional but retaining its modern and luxurious touch.
The Group Vice-President, Toyota US, Bill Fay, had told Bloomberg during last week’s LA Auto Show, adding, “We’ll be paying significant attention to Camry next year.”
Fay was not willing to offer hints about what that “attention” would yield, but with a new Hyundai Sonata debuting in New York and increased production of the strong-selling Fusion both on the horizon.
The Camry is one of the crowd pullers in Nigeria, recording high sales, almost coming after its sibling, the Corolla.
“We can think of some things that would help the Camry – more luxury features and technology along with a more fashionable exterior, to name a few,” the report stated.
The refreshed version of the Camry sedan will be coming about two years after it was fully redesigned,” says another online auto reviewer, autoblog.
It quoted a Tuesday report from Bloomberg as saying Toyota’s move to freshen the still young Camry comes as it seeks to retain its United States sales crown in the midsize segment.
The new Toyota Camry, according to Toyota, will keep its simplicity, but the novelty will be seen in the redesigned, highlighted headlights, fog lights, Firefox trim, lower-body design and firmly curved front door.
In addition to being more spacious than its predecessor, the 2014 Toyota Camry has been refreshed with new materials in the interior such as the doors, instrument panel, trim, armrest and the centre console.
