A 46-year-old man in Onigbedu community in Ewekoro LGA of Ogun state, identified as Sunday Olubusayo, beheaded his wife, and three year old daughter before committing suicide.
The Police Public Relations officer in the state, Mr Muyiwa Adejobi said everyone was clueless as to why Olubusayo murdered his family and committed suicide. He, however, said that investigations showed that the couple had a quarrel before the incident. He said, “After beheading his wife and daughter, Olubusayo stabbed himself, set himself ablaze and tried to jump inside a well but was prevented by neighbours.
“He later died in the hospital of fatal wounds he had inflicted on himself.” In addition, the PPRO said a blood stained machete and knife were recovered from the scene. He said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Ikemefuna Okoye has ordered investigation into the incident and that the case be transferred to Department of Criminal Investigation, Eleweran, Abeokuta for thorough investigation.

The corpses of the deceased have been deposited at the General Hospital, Ifo, for autopsy.
