NIGERIA IDOL: ANOTHER TWO LEAVE

Ms. Oge and Nyro Love may have felt they had escaped the eviction hammer in the ongoing Etisalat-sponsored Nigeria Idol competition. They were wrong. The two were kicked out of the show during the last edition.
As much as the two are talented, the voting public decided to cast their votes for the other contestants in the show hereby ruining the possibilities of the girls to emerging tops in the show.
But it is not over yet. Eight contestants are still in the battle which is getting hotter than fire. The pressure is now evident as witnessed last weekend as they performed various popular songs which they hope will keep them in the competition.
Last week's guest judge, MayD, encouraged the contestants to try their best and not show any form of nervousness.
The contestants hit it on the stage with spectacular performances of international artistes' songs. Xolani opened the show with the popular 'Hallelujah' song by Rufus Wainright while Lisa rendered Bryan Adams' 'Everything I do. Jesse went down memory lane singing A Whole New World by Peebo Bryson. Beebee Bassey took to the stage to give her rendition of the song used as a soundtrack in The Pretenders movie, 'I'll Stand by You.'
Antwon would make John Legend proud as he performed Legend's 'Who did that to you. Eye-D tried a lot with Diana Ross' 'He Lives in Me.' But Evelle's performance of 'Smile' by Natalie Cole was so much on point that the judges commended her after.
