Tinsel, Victor Olaotan, told Saturday Beats that Nigeria can tighten its security with movies just as it happened in the US.
“Americans use films to sell their propaganda to the world; they use that to let the world feel like they are the greatest country in the world. But Nigeria does not know that aspect of the industry. We can market our country and make it bigger than it is with our movies. Nobody knows if America is capable of all the things we see in the movies but when we watch the movies, we believe them. Why can't we do that here? With movies, we can tighten our security.
“Right now, how many people know what Aso Rock looks like? I am sure it is not up to one per cent of Nigerian population. You would never see picture of Aso Rock, not even in the papers because they would never allow it. Have they planted somebody's father's head in Aso Rock that nobody can go in there? I went into the White House when I was in the US. When you go to America, you can visit the White House. Anybody from anywhere in the world can visit the White House. In Abuja, you cannot even go 10 metres close to Aso Rock, why? Transparency is what makes a nation great and as transparent as America is, people are still scared of Americans. You can walk up to the White House and from the gate, they are watching you, there is adequate security everywhere. Hopefully maybe they would take a leaf from that and change the philosophy that binds the country and things might change for the better,” he said.
