FA CUP:MIKEL,IHEANACHO ON COLLISION COURSE

Two proud clubs will be facing each other today with both hoping to redeem themselves after losing their previous games. Chelsea will be hosting Manchester City, looking forward to getting back on the winning track after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of French club Paris Saint-Germain in Paris for the Champions League. However, today’s match will be a lot more challenging for Chelsea who will be missing team captain John Terry due to a hamstring injury.

Manchester City, on the other hand, has been struggling as of late with a couple of losses to Tottenham and Leicester City. While the defeat to Tottenham wasn’t really surprising considering that the club is also a title contender, the one against Leicester City at home is a cause for alarm. Incidentally, two Super Eagles players, John Obi Mikel and Kelechi Iheanacho who scored solitary goals for Chelsea and Manchester City in their defeats to Tottenham and Paris Saint Germain will feature for the two Premier League giants in today’s encounter.

Considering the mediocre play of both clubs the last time out, this tie is actually a toss-up. Manchester City won six of the last 11 games against Chelsea, which means they are out today hoping to maintain that streak. However, Chelsea is also trying to maintain its own streak of winning 24 and losing only one in their last 29 FA Cup games in Stamford Bridge.

City, the 2014 Premier League titleholders will need to regroup the soonest possible time. The good thing going for them though is that skipper Vincent Kompany is expected to play.

There is a good chance that Oscar, after achieving full recovery from a calf injury, will start for Chelsea and Eden Hazard will step aside. Also, Nemanja Matic is finally eligible to play after the European suspension, while Kurt Zouma isn’t expected to be back in action anytime soon with his knee injury, and Radamel Falcao is likewise out with the thigh injury.

SEX EDUCATION: 5 HEALTH BENEFITS OF SEX

It is one of life’s greatest pleasures and vital for the survival of the human race.

There are obvious reasons why having sex is good for you – love, baby making and pleasure, to start with.

But, the benefits go much further.

Experts agree, getting frisky between the sheets can actually be good for a person’s health – in more than one way.

From warding off a cold, to helping prevent a heart attack, we reveal five ways, making love is one of the few pleasures in life that is genuinely good for you.

So if you really need an excuse to heat things up in the bedroom,

IT REALLY DOES IMPROVE YOUR MOODThe evidence suggests that the ‘feelgood’ effect of making love could be more about chemicals than sexual ability.

During lovemaking and orgasm, a cocktail of endorphins – the body’s natural mood-lifting opiates – neurotransmitters and hormones are released.

Oxytocin, in particular, is a hormone released during and after sex that has been shown to make people more generous towards their partners and can also help induce calm and sleep.

Oxytocin is called the ‘cuddling’ hormone because it’s released after just 20 minutes of hugging.

Women produce four times as much as men, for whom production is inhibited by the prevalence of the hormone testosterone, which drives libido.

In fact, the Top Sante research found our favourite simple pleasure was a hug – that’s oxytocin at work.

Another key neurotransmitter is serotonin, the body’s key antidepressant chemical and one of the major reasons people smile and feel happy and relaxed after sex.

Sexually active women in longterm relationships were less likely to be depressed than women who went without sex, according to a study of nearly 300 women by American psychologist Gordon Gallup and published in the Archives Of Sexual Behaviour.

Gallup speculated that semen contains several hormones which may have a mood-boosting effect when they are absorbed through the vaginal wall into the bloodstream.

IT’S GOOD FOR YOUR HEART  A study at Queens University in Belfast found that having sex three times a week could actually halve the risk of heart attack or stroke.

Indeed, the idea that men are more at risk of a heart attack during love-making is mostly misconception, say experts.

Professor Peter Weisberg, medical director of the British Heart Foundation, says there is no evidence that men who have sex regularly in their 40s, 50s and beyond are at an increased risk of heart attack.

‘As far as the heart is concerned, sex is just another form of exercise,’ says Dr Graham Jackson, consultant cardiologist at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital and president of the Sexual Dysfunction Association.

‘In fitness terms, it’s equivalent is going for a mile-long walk or climbing up and down two flights of stairs.

‘If you’re physically fit enough for that, there should be no increased risk during sex.’

AND IT CAN WARD OFF A COLDHaving more sex might increase immunity from colds and flu.

Getting down to it once or twice a week has been linked with higher levels of immunoglobulin A, or IgA, a substance found in saliva and the nasal lining thought to help our immune systems fight colds and flu.

In one study, scientists asked 11 volunteers how often they had had sex over the previous month, then measured levels of IgA in their saliva.

Those who had sex once a week or less had a slight increase, compared with those who abstained; but those who made love more often had 30 per cent higher levels.

YOU’LL LIVE LONGEROne of the largest studies on longevity and sex – conducted on Welsh men – found that those who had sex less than once a month had double the risk of dying prematurely than those who had sex twice a week.

‘Sexual activity seems to have a protective effect on men’s health,’ says Dr Brewer.

‘This may be linked with the effects of the master sex hormone, DHEA or dehydroepiandroterone, which is made in the adrenal glands and functions as a building block of other hormones such as oestrogen, testosterone and progesterone.

‘DHEA levels rise just before orgasm and ejaculation to three times higher than normal, and some claim this is how regular sex can prolong your life.’

IT CAN BOOST FERTILITYFor people trying to conceive, one of the biggest myths associated with fertility is that refraining from ejaculation boosts sperm motility – that’s the rate at which individual sperm can move forwards to penetrate an egg for fertilisation, says gynaecologist Dr Gillian Lockwood, medical director of Midlands Fertility Services.

‘When sperm is hanging around in the epididymis, the long coiled tube in the back of the testes where sperm is stored, it dies off rapidly,’ she says.

‘Unless a man has a low sperm count, the more often he has sex, then the better the quality of his sperm,’ she says.

Preliminary results of a small study by Australian researchers found that in men whose sperm showed significant DNA damage, daily ejaculation reduced this damage by 12 per cent.

‘When it comes to sex for fertility, having sex little and often – at least every other night – is far better than lots of it on infrequent occasions,’ says Dr Lockwood.

I WOULD HAVE DIED IF I HAD CHOSEN FORMAL EDUCATION OVER COMEDY….ACE COMEDIAN I GO DYE

Ace comedian I Go Dye has definitely made a name for himself. Though he didn't go to a tertiary school but he speaks sound and correct English.

His story is that of grace to grace as comedy paved the path for him. However, most celebrities without education later goes back to get a degree, but that does not seem to be the case of I Go Dye as he doesn't have any plan of doing that soon.

In an interview with punch recently, he made it known that his choice of course would have been Technical Engineering if he had gone to school. He further said engineering has been something he stared at a little age of 12, where he was asked to build up a few gadgets.

His love for comedy took over every other thing, and comedy has become something that he cants live without. However, he turned down an offer to school abroad just to pursue his passion; he has spent 20 years in the game which finally paid off for him. He is actually not regretful about it, as he claims his passion for comedy cannot be replaced by a formal education.
In his words: “I probably could have died by now if I decided to become a Structural Engineer.
Academic pursuit depends on personal interest. I am still acquiring knowledge on a daily basis.
There is no limit to educational quest. The truth of the matter is that life is a choice. Until you do things you love, you cannot really be happy. Those things I built at the time are still part of my life today. But I chose comedy because that is where my love lies. I started building things at the young age of about 12. At a point, I was no longer really comfortable with that path of life.”

KCEE ATTACKED HOURS AFTER ENDORSEMENT DEAL

After announcing on his Instagram page on Tuesday that he has sealed a deal with Air Peace, Five Star artiste, KCce has come under attack.

The singer had reportedly claimed that he was the first artiste to be named the brand ambassador for the airline, but his fans took him on it.
“Whoever said hard work doesn’t pay hasn’t tried hard enough! Air Peace just added another feather to my cap by making me their brand ambassador. Shouts out to all the other major brands I represent in Nigeria. First Nigerian artist to be endorsed by an airline,” he had claimed.
But those who keep records informed the singer that his claim is false, sounding it loud to him that prolific filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan was made the brand ambassador for Air France weeks before his deal. It was also pointed out to him that D’Banj was once a brand ambassador for Virgin Airline.
“Who told you you’re the first Nigerian artiste to be endorsed by an airline? You were still small when Virgin endorsed D’Banj anyway,” a fan told KCee.
