Governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu on Monday was ordered to immediately vacate his position by a Federal High Court in Abuja.
The governor was sacked by the court for submitting false information about his tax clearance to his party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the gubernatorial primary in December 2014.
The court reckoned that he is unfit to be the governor of the state seeing that he was initially not qualified to contest for the 2015 election which he emerged victorious.
In his ruling, Justice Okon Abang ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately issue a certificate of return to the complainant, Uche Ogah- the candidate with the second highest number of votes in the said primary election.
