10 years ago, 2face dropped his very first album, Face 2 Face shortly after Plantashun Boyz broke up in 2004, the album was released under the Kennis Music imprint.
Fast forward to 2014 and 2face has enjoyed a truly remarkable career, recently dropping his 6th studio album, The Ascension which made its way to the top of iTunes Nigeria in no time and he’s also the boss of Hypertek Entertainment while boasting several local international awards and endorsements.
And for the 10th year anniversary of the album, 2face has said he is set to make a return to Kennis Music, the label where it all began.
In a recent interview with Hip Hop World magazine, 2face is quoted to have said: ‘It’s been 10 years (since) I dropped my first album, so Kennis Music and Hypertek Entertainment is about to celebrate (the) 10 years anniversary of my first album ‘Face To Face’ and it’s just about us re-packaging some things about the album.’
2face will be teaming up with the Kenny Ogungbe-led Kennis Music to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of his debut album as a solo artiste.
However, a source in the Kennis Music camp, who pleaded anonymity, revealed that ‘2face and Kennis Music are planning something big, it’s more than just the celebration of his 10th anniversary.
‘He has signed a new deal with Kennis Music and we would be working on a lot more,’ the source added.
Further findings revealed that Kennis Music and 2face will on Friday, October 24, hold an official unveiling ceremony to reveal details of the new partnership.
2face left Kennis Music in 2008 to found his own label in 2008 after his Grass 2 Grace album. He has since dropped 4 albums, The Unstoppable in 2008 and The Unstoppable International Edition in 2010 as well as Away & Beyond and The Ascension in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
