Steven Gerrard has gone to great lengths to make sure he is able to watch his former club Liverpool in the Capital One Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.
The 35-year-old spent 17 seasons at his boyhood club before moving to LA Galaxy at the end of last season.
The midfielder picked up nine trophies during his time at Anfield and he will be devastated that he’s not on the pitch on Sunday at Wembley.
In fact, Gerrard was close to not being to watch the match at all.

“When Liverpool reached the final the first thing I did was check our fixture list, hoping to get to Wembley,” he wrote in his column for the Telegraph.
