Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde and Nigeria’s king of comedy, Ali Baba will be honoured at the 2015 African Achievers Awards event billed for Johannesburg, South Africa on July 25, 2015.
Confirming the decision to honour the two prominent entertainers, the AAA through its principal partner, Rex Idaminabo said the two are most qualified going by their outstanding contributions to the transformation of the entertainment industry in Nigeria and in Africa.
Speaking further on the honours, Rex said:
‘While Omotala’s zeal and consistency created the needed breakthrough for Nollywood to thrive, Ali Baba took the comedy business to a different level in the country. Both Omotola and Ali Baba created a path for others to follow. They showed other artists the desired paths, and today, entertainment has become one of the main industries in Nigeria and in Africa that pays more people than any other industry.’
