EX-SUPER EAGLES PLAYER, KANU NWANKWO UNDERGOES ANOTHER HEART SURGERY

Ex- Super Eagles striker and Olympic Gold medalist, Kanu Nwankwo has again undergone a heart surgery in the US.
The talented footballer who played in Holland, Italy and England in his active days underwent a corrective surgery over the weekend at a Cleveland Hospital in Ohio.
Reports say the surgery was carried out during one of his normal yearly routine medical checks at the hospital following the 1997 heart surgery at the same hospital.
While speaking on the UNICEF Ambassador’s condition, Pastor Onyebuchi Abia, the coordinator of the Kanu Heart Foundation confirmed the success of the surgery adding that the former Super Eagles captain has since left the intensive care unit, ICU of the hospital.
“He’ll be back home in a few days time’’, Abia said in a statement.
‘’I spoke with him Sunday afternoon and he confirmed he’s in a stable condition.

Even from his hospital bed, he expressed profound gratitude to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for the award bestowed on him during the Centenary Award Ceremony in Abuja.
‘’He also hailed the transformation agenda of the present administration in showing commitment to sports adding that he was humbled by the award and promised to continue his football ambassadorial work for the benefit of the country’’, Abia quoted him as saying.
The former Arsenal forward assured his teeming fans and supporters of his quick recovery.
