“IBRAHIMOVIC IS A BITTER PRIMA DONNA” – HOENESS DEFENDS GUARDIOLA

Bayern Munich chief Uli Hoeness, has defended Pep Guardiola following Paris Saint-Germain’s striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s criticism of his former boss.
The pair endured a tough relationship in the 2009-2010 at Barcelona and the Swede has taken a couple of shots against the Spaniard in his new book.
“We have a completely different opinion than Zlatan Ibrahimovic. We are very satisfied with Pep Guardiola,” Hoeness told Bild.
“Ibrahimovic is a bitter prima donna if you ask me. He has never really gotten over his Barcelona exit.
“No team has ever been happy with him. He always brings problems with him.”

BURNA BOY’S ‘MY RACE’ TOPS MTV BASE NAIJA TOP 10

Burna Boy’s ‘My Race’ has been announced as leading this week’s MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart, replacing D’Banj’s ‘Don’t tell Me Nonsense’ at the number one position.
This week’s official Naija chart featured Beat FM OAP Toolz lounging with VJ Ehis for the 30th edition of the music chart show.
This week’s biggest climbers were Timaya and Illbliss, who each moved up one place to number 4 and number 9 respectively, with ‘Ekoloma Demba’ and ‘I’m Sorry.’
Skuki, Olamide and Dr. Sid all remain locked in the same positions as last week, while former number one ‘E Mi Ni Baller’ by Chidinma remained in the number three position for the second week running.
The Official Naija Top 10 weekly is put together by a selected judging panel of Nigerian broadcasters, music specialists working with MTV Base to pick the winners and losers in the week’s chart.
On the panel are Onos Ovueraye (Bella Naija.com), DJ Humility (Rhythm FM), DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Xclusive (Cool FM), Big Time (Rhythm FM), DJ Caise (The Beat FM), Toolz (The Beat FM) and OsagieAlonge (Nigerian Entertainment Today).

NIGERIA @ 53: FIRST LADY FELICITATES WITH NIGERIAN WOMEN

The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan on Monday in Abuja, congratulated all Nigerians, especially women on the occasion of the nation’s 53rd Independence Anniversary.
In a statement signed by Mrs. Ayo Adesugba, a Director of Information in the Presidency, Mrs Jonathan noted that from the pre-independent era to the present day, Nigerian women had played vital roles in national development.
“I congratulate you all and urge you to continue to take your pride of place while contributing your quota to the social, economic and political development of the nation.’’
The president’s wife urged all Nigerians to embrace unity, be patriotic and urged all women to play prominent roles as bridge builders so that the nation can move forward.
“I also use this occasion to appeal to Nigerians to eschew acts capable of causing an atmosphere of rancour, instability and disunity.
“We as Nigerians should embrace a new spirit of commitment and patriotism that will help to further promote the progress of the nation.
“Women have been endowed to be peace makers and bridge builders, I appeal to all women to intensify prayers for the peace and unity of the country as well as for its leaders,” She said. (NAN)


DAYO AMUSA'S UNFORGIVABLE HIT CINEMA, MIKE EZURUONYE SPEAKS YORUBA

The premiere of Dayo Amusa’s new movie, Unforgivable, will take place at the Silverbird Cinema, Ikeja City Mall, Lagos on October 27, 2013, while the film will be available at the cinemas nationwide from Friday, November 3, 2013.
A media preview of the film held last week at Silverbird Cinema, Ikeja Mall revealed Mike Ezuruonye and Desmond Elliot giving award winning performances as they express themselves in Yoruba language.
The movie was directed by Desmond Elliot, Unforgivable parades top stars like Dayo Amusa, Mike Ezuruonye, Bukky Wright, Desmond Elliot, Fathia Balogun, Bidemi Kosoko, Bimbo Thomas, Iyabo Ojo, Niyi Johnson, Lawal Aisha, and Titilayo Shobo amongst others, while it introduces new acts such as Ibironke Ashaolu and Wale Alabi.
Filled with suspense and intrigue, the informative and educative film centers on Damola (Mike Ezuruonye) who is blinded by his pride to see and accept the undiluted love shown by his wife, Sewa (Dayo Amusa), who sacrifices everything to make her marriage work to the detriment of her health. She is so engrossed with marital issues that she neglects her own health which leads to cancer.
On the other side of the wall is a well cultured Richard (Desmond Elliot), who doesn’t have the courage to express his feelings and affection to Sewa (Dayo Amusa) whom he loves way back in the university.
Unforgivable is a movie that evokes emotion, pity, love and regret. Not a few media practitioners that saw the film left the hall without shedding tears.
Speaking on the movie, actress cum producer, Dayo Amusa said: “Unforgivable is about domestic violence, marital issues and cancer, uterus cancer to be precise. I am trying to pass a message across to people who believe in domestic violence, violence against women.”

Apple has overtaken Coca-Cola to become the world’s most valuable brand, according to a report released today.
The crowning of the creator of the iPhone as the leading global brand is striking testimony to the increasing power of technology compared to traditional powerhouses such as car companies.
Google came second in the list compiled by consultancy Interbrand, with Coca-Cola, IBM and Microsoft rounding out the top five. See the list below:
