FORMER CAMEROON COACH REVEALS ETO’O IS VERY ANGRY OVER MOURINHO’S COMMENTS ABOUT HIS AGE

Former coach of the Cameroonian national team, Claude Le Roy, has disclosed that Chelsea striker is not happy about comments Jose Mourinho made concerning his age.
The Blues boss was caught on camera by French TV station Canal Plus, telling Hublot’s boss that his side lacked a clinical finisher. He joked that Eto’o was probably more than 32 and hinted at a summer move for Radamel Falcao, who he claimed plays in front of 3,000 spectators.
Mourinho was heard saying: “The problem with Chelsea is I lack a scorer. I have Eto’o but he is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?”
Speaking to Canal Plus show Talents d’Afrique, Le Roy said: “I had [Eto’o] on the phone just before I came on screen, and he’s very annoyed.
“Actually, Mourinho went to see him before he saw the pictures and told him to not believe everything that was going to be said. And that he had said nothing about him. But I can tell you that Samuel didn’t like it.”
According to Sportsmail, Eto’o was the last player to arrive at Chelsea’s team-meeting in Istanbul on Tuesday night, arriving 15 minutes late.

There’s only one thing I regret,” he continued. “There’s only one thing I wish I could change out of everything that’s ever happened. I wish that my mother could’ve met my daughter.”
West was raised by his single mother, Donda West, from the age of three, and the two were very close. She died in 2007, due to complications from cosmetic surgery, paired with other medical issues.

Nollywood Actress, Uche Ogbodo, fondly called Nollywood Lady Gaga, has confirmed her pregnancy a week after the news went viral.
According to her, she and her husband, Apo Arthur are super excited.
You will recall that Uche secretly wedded an America based ex-footballer, Apo Arthur last year, and in a phone call with Encomium on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, confirmed the news, adding that,“My husband and I are very happy about it.”
Encomium gathered that since Uche discovered she was pregnant, she has slowed down her activities.

HE DID IT! PRAIZ RAISES N10M TO SAVE BABY WITH HOLE IN HEART

X3M Music singer Praiz Adejo has helped raise N10 Million for a baby who recently closed a hole in her heart.
The R&B/Soul singer first heard of Somaya Olayinka Dahli, a young Nigerian girl who successfully had a heart operation in late 2013. Doctors however told her parents that Somaya would need post-surgery treatment, monitoring and care to keep her alive.
Praiz learnt of the situation and felt he could help out. ‘It was sad seeing Somaya go through all that pain, she’s a little girl who shouldn’t suffer like that’, Praiz says.
The X3M Music act offered one-month sales made from the callertune off his single ‘Oshé’ to Somaya. The total money raised at February 2014 is N10m.
Somaya’s parents have been presented with the money which will cover the medical bills.

GOATS AND YAMS REGISTER FOR SIM CARDS

Want to buy a new SIM card? Too tired to wait in line and register the SIM? Send your goat or yam instead according to this report from The Telegraph.
SIM card registration agents across the country are using pictures of goats and foodstuff instead of human beings during the registration process, Efosa Idehen, the Head, Compliance, Monitoring and Enforcement of Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), said on Monday.
He said: “It may interest you to know that after the telephone operators might have completed their own part of the registration and forwarded it to us as the regulators; we sometimes find pictures of goats and yams. We also do find pictures of women with men’s name and vice versa.
“When information got to the NCC that some people were buying SIM cards without their biometrics, it became worrisome to us because the main purpose of SIM card registration was going to be defeated.”According to Idehen, investigation by the regulator showed that SIM cards that were not registered were used by criminals like kidnappers.
He added that the pre-activated SIM cards were usually sold at a premium sum of N1,500 as against N100 for the normal ones.
“We have had to sanction GSM operators in the past for not monitoring the activities of their agents,” he said. “Anyone who sells fully activated SIM cards is as guilty as the person who registers the card because they are not supposed to be registered before sale.
“In Osun state, I arrested some teenagers of 13 and 14 years of age, took them to their parents and verbally warned them that what their children were doing would land them in problem.”
Idehen said anyone found with pre-activated SIM cards would be prosecuted and may end up paying a fine of N200,000.
The NCC is mandated to create a credible data base of Nigerians using the GSM.

‘MY TEAM DID NOT FAIL’ – MOURINHO SAYS AFTER 2-0 LOSS TO CITY

Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has said that his team did not fail in their FA cup ouster against Manchester City yesterday. He said that the side that played the better football won, acknowledging the superiority of the Manchester City squad in the match.
‘My team didn’t fail, but City played much better than us and when the best team wins, football is at peace,’ Mourinho admitted.
‘The situation is simple to analyse: They were the best team, they won.
‘Today proved how difficult it is to win here, which shows how well my team did in the last game.
‘The second goal was an offside but we would still have lost 1-0 as we were never close to scaring City in the game.’

ADIDAS UNVEILS NIGERIA’S KIT FOR 2014 WORLD CUP, EAGLES TO LAUNCH IT AGAINST MEXICO [PHOTO]

According to Adidas, the Super Eagles will pull on their new 2014 World Cup kit for the first time against Mexico in a friendly match in Atlanta, USA.

The sportswear giants revealed the new home jersey on Friday and explain that it “departs from the traditional racing green to an exciting and striking lighter variant, reflecting a fresh, young and vibrant Super Eagles team that carries the hopes of a proud Nigerian nation”.

The most noticeable design on the new kit, is the addition of a bridge-like band across the shoulders, while the jersey itself is now brighter and more colourful.

Nigeria Football Federation president, Aminu Maigari remarked: “We are very proud to once again partner with Adidas to produce a home jersey that reflects youth, spontaneity and freshness. It will not only appeal to the Super Eagles but their fans across the globe. We are delighted with the design as it reflects innovation yet incorporating an element of fun.

“We are happy though that while the jersey has a new look, it’s green side panels tie the new kit to its’ historic darker green tradition.”

Red is surprisingly the colour of choice for the name and number treatment, on the white away kit.

PRISONER ESCAPES JAIL TO VISIT GIRLFRIEND ON VALENTINE’S DAY

An Arizona jail inmate who escaped by climbing two walls and crawling through razor wire and was reportedly meeting his sweetheart on Valentine’s Day is back in custody.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s office says in a release that inmate Joseph Andrew Dekenipp was caught a few hours after he escaped Friday from the county detention center.

The office says he would undergo treatment for serious cuts he got from the wire before being returned to the lockup.

The Arizona Republic reports that the 40-year-old Dekenipp was arrested without incident after he arrived at a Coolidge saloon and grill where he was to meet his girlfriend. Coolidge is about 35 miles southeast of Phoenix.

Dekenipp has been in jail since his arrest Jan. 10 on suspicion of vehicle theft, trafficking in stolen property, unlawful flight, and driving on a suspended license.

Officials say he is now facing an escape charge.

FA CUP : MANCHESTER CITY CRUISES TO QUARTER-FINALS WITH CHELSEA DEFEAT

Manchester City has defeated Chelsea two goals to nothing to advance to the quarter-finals of the FA cup on Saturday February 15th 2014.

Stevan Jovetic and Samir Nasri scored the goals that keeps City’s dreams of a quadruple alive and the winning margin might have been even more emphatic on a miserable night for Jose Mourinho’s men.

BBC reports:

The result was rarely in doubt as soon as Jovetic gave City the lead with a fine low finish in the 16th minute.

Chelsea managed just three efforts at goal in the 90 minutes: hopeful shots from distance from Willian and Cesar Azpilicueta that were well off target, and a late Gary Cahill header which was blocked.

With the in-form Eden Hazard shackled by James Milner and Pablo Zabaleta, the Premier League leaders looked short of ideas and City’s defensive diligence meant Chelsea never got the chance to break forward in the manner that had proved so decisive in their last meeting.

City began cagily, operating in their usual 4-4-2 formation but understandably wary of committing too many men forward because of their opponents’ threat on the break.

That all changed after their first meaningful attack, which saw Jovetic clip the bar after Petr Cech spilled Yaya Toure’s drilled shot.

Moments later, City were ahead. David Silva and Eden Dzeko combined quickly in a move that ended with Jovetic, on the overlap, quickly making amends for his previous miss.

Chelsea were set up in the same 4-2-3-1 shape that brought them success here last time out but there was no zip about them when they came forward and City always looked more likely to extend their lead.

Mourinho tried to change the direction of the game at the break, replacing Samuel Eto’o with £11m January signing Mohamed Salah, but both he and Fernando Torres, who was later introduced from the bench, made little impact.

“I DID NOT WANT TO PLAY AGAINST BARCELONA” – YAYA TOURE

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure admits it will be difficult to return to former club Barcelona when the two sides meet in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Ivorian spent three years at Camp Nou, where he says he learned a lot and made many friends, before making the move to Manchester.
Now, though, Toure will return to Barcelona as a member of an opposing team for the first time – and he admits it is a scenario he is uncomfortable with.
“It’s difficult because I don’t really want to play Barcelona. It’s a club I have a lot of respect for, a club which taught me a lot and where I have many friends who helped me,” the 30-year-old told Uefa.com.
“I will play against these guys at the Camp Nou. It’s the stadium where I always wanted to play and now I’ll be coming back wearing a different shirt.
“I didn’t want to play in front of the fans who gave me so much love and respected me but that’s football.”
Toure does admit, however, that he has enjoyed a more expansive role since joining City, especially as he prefers the “fast-paced” style of English football.
“At Barcelona it was my job to hold and organise,” he added. “It was all about being focused and never losing concentration.
“Now I can drop into defence or join the attack. I was limited to playing in the middle at Barcelona. I like playing in England because it’s an open league and very fast-paced.
“We have a great desire to show our fans and everyone else that City are on the right track.”

KID CUDI UNVEILS 'SATELLITE FLIGHT' COVER ART AND TRACKLIST

Kid Cudi has revealed the cover art and the full tracklist of his upcoming album, "Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon". Designed by the rapper himself, the album cover features his silhouette in front of a constellation of stars.
Meanwhile, the tracklist was unveiled in a picture that was shared via Twitter on Thursday, February 13. The 10 tracks, which include Cudi's collaboration with R&B legend Raphael Saadiq "Balmain Man", are all set to be included in the album's digital edition.
Cudi has promised that more tracks will appear in the physical edition. "This is just the digital release track listing. New jams will be added for the physical, kind of like an extended 'Directors Cut'! yahm," he told his Twitter followers.
"Satelitte Flight" was initially announced as an EP. Late last month, he revealed that the project would arrive as a full album. "Satellite Flight is an album now thats what u get for being so patient w me. Ur gonna love it. Ur gonna love it. Ur gonna f**king LOVE!" he tweeted on January 27. "I have an excitement deep in the bellows of my loins haha."
Marking Cudi's fourth studio set, the record is expected to be released later this month. The "Need for Speed" star previously said that his album would arrive within 24 hours after he announced the release date.

NICKI MINAJ APOLOGIZES FOR CONTROVERSIAL MALCOLM X COVER ART

Nicki Minaj received some backlashes after she unveiled the cover art for her brand new track, "Lookin Ass Nigga". The controversial artwork features Malcolm X holding a rifle and looking out of the window. The original photo was published in Ebony magazine in 1964.

Many people thought that Minaj was being disrespectful for using the civil-right activist's photo as the cover of her provocative song. "I've never in my life seen a black artist openly disrespect Malcolm x like Nicki Minaj just did," a fan wrote on the social media.
Following the backlash, Minaj took to Instagram to address the controversy and apologize. She wrote that the Malcolm X artwork was not official. "What seems to be the issue now? Do you have a problem with me referring to the people Malcolm X was ready to pull his gun out on as Lookin Ass Niggaz? Well, I apologize. That was never the official artwork nor is this an official single," she explained.
"I am in the video shooting at “Lookin Ass Niggaz” and there happened to be an iconic picture of Malcolm X ready to do the same thing for what he believed in!!!! It is in no way to undermine his efforts and legacy. I apologize to the Malcolm X estate if the meaning of the photo was misconstrued," she continued and added that the photo had now been removed.
"Lookin Ass Nigga" arrived on Wednesday, February 12 with its accompanying video, which shows the former "American Idol" judge flaunting her killer curves in super revealing outfit.
The track is set to appear in her upcoming third album as well as in Young Money's compilation set "Rise of an Empire" which is due out in stores on March 11.
