“I’M NOT CLASSLESS…” – COMEDIAN, AY FIRES BACK AT JIM IYKE

Ace comedian, Ayo ‘AY’ Makun, has responded to the tweet from Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, in which the actor referred to him as ‘classless’.
This came as a result of a comedy skit done by the comedian, which replicates Iyke’s ‘deliverance’ session at TB Joshua’s Synagogue church.
AY has said that the skit was designed to be a joke, pointing out that there would not be an entertainment industry, if everyone starts reacting to jokes or how actors portray characters in movies – like pastors, doctors or lawyers.
According to HipHopWorld report:
“It was designed to be a joke, it’s still a joke”, Makun said. ”I’m a standup comedian and we make people laugh for a living and comedians are social commentators”.
AY also apologized to Jim Iyke for the skit, but didn’t fail to affirm that he’s NOT ‘classless’.
“I’m sorry about it, it wasn’t designed to be detrimental in any way but if you see it that way, bro., I got nothing but love for you…I’m not classless and I know you know that”, he said.
The skit also features Jara presenter Helen Paul, better known as Tatafo.
Iyke had earlier tweeted at AY, saying: “Peo (sic) cross lines sometimes for relevance. It disappoints even more if it comes frm peo (sic) u deemed to hv self respect #Classless.”

ECHIEJILE JOINS MONACO

Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile has joined French Ligue 1 giants, AS Monaco from Portuguese club, Braga.
The 25-year-old left-back has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal, returning to France where he spent three years with Rennes from 2007.
“I am very happy and proud – Monaco is one of the best clubs in Europe,” Echiejile said. "They have a great reputation in Africa since George Weah played here.”
“It’s now official. I have signed a 4½ yrs contract with AS Monaco in France,” Echiejile said on Twitter.
“Very grateful to God, the Braga fans, my former team mates, and the entire coaching crew. It was a wonderful 3½-years with you,” he added.
The left-back, whose contract with Braga was due to end in June, played every match for Nigeria as they won the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa last year.
Monaco’s technical director Riccardo Pecini said: “He is a very good player that we followed for some time and we think he still has a great room for improvement
“He already knows the Ligue 1, an important aspect for us, and through sound recruitment, we continue to move forward in our desire to focus on players with high potential.”
Monaco, second in Ligue 1, five points behind leaders Paris St-Germain, have invested heavily in players since gaining promotions last season, signing the likes of Radamal Falcao and Joao Moutinho.
Echiejile made 64 appearances for Braga, scoring 5 goals.

COMEDIAN ‘I GO DYE’ BECOMES UN AMBASSADOR

One of Nigeria’s A-list humour merchants, Francis Agoda (who goes by the stage name ‘I Go Dye’), has joined the swelling and enviable ranks of United Nations Global Ambassadors.
‘I Go Dye’ was co-opted into the UN Ambassadorial conclave to help further the body’s Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and was handed the plaque of honour recently.
“I feel honoured with this honour, but it will be more gratifying to me when I will see that our leaders create opportunities for youths to be gainfully employed. Because as at today, millions of Africans are suffering, and faced with uncertainty. The future seems vague and no hope in sight”, the Comic told The Vanguard newspapers.

AREGBESOLA UNVEILS WORLD’S TALLEST DRUM WITH SOYINKA PRESENT

The world’s tallest drum has been unveiled in Osogbo, Osun State to flag off activities for the New Year by the Centre for Black Culture and International Understandings. Governor Aregbesola who was there with his entourage to unveil it, also had Nobel Literature laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, who recently lost is 48-year old daughter with him. We are not sure if it will make it to the Guinness book of world records, but they say it’s the largest drum in the world.

Star actress, Ini Edo has berated some fraudsters on Facebook using her name to dupe some of her teeming fans. She disclosed that her Facebook and Twitter accounts have been compromised and warned her fans to disregard any post asking to part with their hard-earned money.
The Akwa-Ibom-born screen diva sent out this warning message in a broadcast on blackberry and warned the criminals to desist from such acts.
She wrote, "hello my dear people. Once again, Happy New Year.
"My attention has just been drawn to some fraudulent acts being perpetrated by some criminals using my social media accounts; Facebook and Twitter, they have been compromised.
"I'm hereby warning these fraudsters to desist from these acts and advising my fans and unsuspecting members of the public to be vigilant so they don't fall victims. I have not asked anybody on Facebook or Twitter to pay money into any account. Please be careful.

Are we all perfect? Since we are not all perfect and we also have our shortcomings like I keep saying, so it may be from him or me but I don’t know, whichever way it is, we all have our shortcomings. As long as blood runs through our veins, that means mistakes will always surface because there is no perfect man on the planet. What I did in the past wasn’t a mistake but it made me stronger to become who I am today. It was meant to happen and it has happened. So I am okay.
On what she would do differently If given a shot at another marriageMarriage entails a lot of sacrifice but between you and me, I am going to be myself because I am very unique. I am not looking for a boyfriend nor a husband but if God says I will remarry, I will remain the same person I have always been. I won’t change for anything, you will marry me the way I am. I don’t think I can still marry again but if God says this person is right for me, why not, I will go with him.

WOMB TRANSPLANT SUCCESSFULLY DONE IN SWEDEN

Doctors at the University of Gothenburg Sweden have successfully carried out womb transplant for 9 women who were born without a womb and are waiting for them to get pregnant. This amazing new kind of surgery is geared towards helping women who are born without wombs, a medical condition called MKRH or had there uterus removed due to severe medical conditions such as cervical cancer.
The wombs received were from mothers or female relatives of the recipients. All nine women are currently ovulating which is a good sign that the wombs are doing fine inside the women. Continue..
Saudi Arabia is the first country in the world to have carried out womb transplant in the year 2000 but the recipient recorded blood clot and so the womb was removed. Turkey was the 2nd country to try the womb transplant were they took womb from dead people and transplanted into this women but the process also failed as the women lost their babies after 2 months of conception. England is preparing to also carry out the process.
Head surgeon for this process Dr Mats Brannstrom said
“This is a research study. It could lead to the women having children, but there are no guarantees …what is certain is that they are making a contribution to science.”.

JAMB ISSUES WARNING ABOUT FAKE UTME CARDS

The Lagos Co-ordinator of The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, Mr. Kamaldeen Oladeji, on Monday alerted the public on reports of fake Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, e-facility cards in circulation in the state.
“I want to seize this opportunity to sensitise the public of this ugly development.
“Some candidates have reported the purchase of fake e-facility cards to the JAMB National Headquarters Annex at No. 11, Ojora Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
“The candidates said they bought the fake e-facility cards from vendors at the Lagos State University (LASU) and around Ikotun and Sango-Ota.”
Mr. Oladeji said candidates complained that the fake e-facility cards were being sold at a price higher than the quoted purchase price of N1,000.
He warned that any vendor found selling the e-facility cards outside the board’s offices nationwide would face the wrath of the law.
Mr. Oladeji added that the e-facility card was only available for sale to the public at the board’s offices nationwide.

Microsoft is set to unveil Windows 9 sooner than expected, experts have disclosed.
The yet to be released Windows 9 is known as Threshold; this will try to overcome the challenges associated with Windows 8 which experts have said it is a “complete failure.”
According to reports, Windows 9 will be unveiled at Build 2014 this April, but will be formally launched in April 2015.

RnB singer cum entrepreneur, Darey Art-Alade has announced the return of his concert series “Love Like A Movie.’
The Valentine event, which debuted in 2013, to local and international acclaim, was adjudged by pundits as the greatest concert ever to be hosted in Nigeria.
Love Like A Movie now enters year two, with a spectacular Saturday show holding at the Eko Hotel Oceanview Grounds on February 15, 2014.
To be produced by Livespot Productions, the event, Darey says, will be one night of world-class performances that LLAM is known for, plus boundary pushing lights, lasers and pyrotechnic displays.

Jibola who lamented that his political ambition has hindered him from hitting movie locations said, he was still consulting with his people, adding ‘’My acting career has taken me to places but I want to do more things to better the lives of my people.’’ He was the recipient of 2010 Zuma Best Actor award.

NO INCREASE IN PRICE OF RECHARGE CARDS – MTN

MTN has stated that the face value of all its recharge card denominations remain the same. “We have not effected a price increase and the retail prices of the various denominations of our recharge cards and recharge vouchers remain the same,” says Wale Goodluck, Corporate Services Executive, MTN. The recharge vouchers come in the following denominations: N1, 500, N750, N400, N200 and N100.
Mr. Goodluck was speaking against the backdrop of reports that MTN recharge cards are being sold at prices above their face value in some parts of the country.
“Any such hike,” said Goodluck, “is contrary to MTN’s wishes or knowledge. BLACKBERRY PARTS WAYS WITH ALICIA KEYS

BlackBerry is parting ways with singer Alicia Keys, after a year-long collaboration with the smartphone maker.
The Waterloo, Ont.-based company says Keys will be leaving her role as its global creative director on Jan. 30.
Her involvement with the company drew criticism from some outsiders who said, despite the decidedly corporate title, Keys was little more than a celebrity who was brought in to help promote its BlackBerry 10 smartphones.
BlackBerry has insisted that Keys had a more direct involvement in its operations, highlighting her work on a four-year scholarship program that encouraged young women to enter specific science and technology fields.
The company brought Keys onto the team last January at the splashy New York launch of its BlackBerry 10 smartphone line, which was supposed to mark a new beginning for the well-known brand.
She appeared at numerous corporate events throughout the year and in some promotional material.
“We have enjoyed the opportunity to work with such an incredibly talented and passionate individual,” the company said in an emailed statement.

PHARRELL WILLIAMS TOPS BRITAIN’S SINGLES CHART

American Singer-songwriter Pharrell Williams seized top spot in Britain’s singles chart on Sunday December 30th with his track “Happy”, ousting talent show winner Sam Bailey after only a week at No. 1.
The song, which features in the soundtrack to animation, “Despicable Me 2?, has achieved massive sales of nearly 107,000 copies in the past week, the Official Charts Company said, handing Williams his third British No.1 in 2013.

Despite the Rehab, they looked happy with each other.
